I've been meaning to write about this for a while now, but what has been going on with shoulder bags lately? People have been doing this odd thing where they totally inconvenience themselves by holding their entire shoulder bag in their hand, rather than slinging it over their shoulder (where it belongs, might I add). My prediction is that the day clutch is the culprit behind this trend.
A few months ago, large chunky clutches began to parade around our city streets during the daytime. And people seem to have responded so positively to this trend that they want all of their bags to become day clutches. Even their shoulder bags. Hence the shoulder bag, strap dangling clutch was born. And if you don't live in New York City, and you're not used to seeing the birth of trends happen right before your eyes- here's proof.
