BREAKING NEWS: Skinny jeans are alive and well on the Chanel runway.  Phew! That was a close one...

Although I've always been a fan of Chanel, I mean, who hasn't, I have never felt such a connection to a collection until now.  Described as "funeralwear", this romantically dark ready-to-wear wasn't the only thing that smoldered.  Throughout the show, charred "volcanic" rocks and ash set the mysterious tone as the models walked through the smoky pathway.  With the white haired king leading the way, going to the dark side has never felt this good.

KARL LAGERFELD & THE L.E.S.

As most of us New Yorkers already know, Karl Lagerfeld was spotted in Soho and on the Lower East Side shooting a Chanel Fall/Winter 2010 ad campaign. What we did not know is that some genius over at Nitrolicious totally stalked him and got some incredible footage of Karl. Just like an angel from heaven, Karl descended on his forklift. Amazing.

CHANEL TATTOOS

THEY'RE HERE!!!!!

Chanel's Spring 2010 Runway show featured country bumpkinette's who were all tatted up. And these weren't just any regular ol' tattoos, they were CHANEL tattoos. If you don't already know, that makes them better than regular ones. Yes, better. Okay. Moving on.

A few months later Chanel released a statement saying that they were actually going to sell these temporary tattoos and it was in that moment that all of my hopes and dreams came true. Yes people, I am very easy to please.

The Chanel temporary tattoos are available in stores and online! Which reminds me, I need to go take care of something...

SPRING 2010 ADVERTISEMENTS

Let me start off by saying that I am experimenting with the no caps thing. I am not happy about it as I actually write in all caps in real life. But at the end of the day, if no one can read the blog, then what the hell is the point.

Since fourth grade I have been making inspiration books composed of magazine tear-outs. I have a binder for each year since 1994 and nothing makes me happier than looking back on old advertisements. Sure, Tavi (for the record, I think she's great) posted pictures from her new Prada book of the Spring 2000 ad campaign with the lipstick skirts, but does she actually have it? Well, I do. I'm not bragging or anything, but as a 9 year old I was way ahead of my time and should be an inspiration to fashion icons everywhere.

Every season I look forward to the new ads and can't help but wonder what I will think of them in the years to come. Looks fade, designers go bankrupt, and magazines disappear, but the pages enclosed within sheet protectors and labeled by designer, magazine, year, and season...well those will last forever.
