MARK EVANS LEATHER ART

When my friend, Joe Brooklyn, showed me the work of Mark Evans, it was hard to believe that one man carved these images using just a knife. Mark's love of carving began as a young boy when he used to carve designs into trees in the Welsch Mountains. He studied fine art in London, but throughout his life, he continued to etch drawings out of leather using knives, sharp glass and other objects. Mark carves beautiful images out of cowhide using only a few different knives. It can take him weeks or even months to finish one image, but with a lot of time and patience, he etches his stunning masterpieces that are unlike anything I've ever seen.
