NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

LAST YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS ANALYSIS:

Number 1: “Career. I will have one.”

- A After being laid off from my job and making the risky decision to finally launch my own line, I actually did end up with a career.

Number 2: “I refuse to be a 25 year old unfamous designer.”

- G God I’m such an asshole. Who says that? Nonetheless, I feel so lucky to have had a great amount of exposure in the past year and it was truly more than I ever could have expected. From the New York Times blog to upcoming editorials in Zink and People Magazine, the future is certainly looking bright.

Number 3: “Nail biting and gym. Stop and Go.”

Well, the nail biting thing happened...

Number 4 & 5: Dating and men

Oh, who cares...

Number 6: “Start accepting offers to socialize at other peoples houses”

Well, the ass dent in my couch has risen up to a normal level signifying my departure from the apartment, so I guess that's a good sign.

Number 7: “Family: See them more”

I did see my family a lot more this year than usual. Now if only they would stop coming here and let me go home to sunny south Florida, I could really use a tan right about now.

THIS YEAR’S RESOLUTION:

Shockingly, this year’s resolution is shorter and much sweeter: I just want to stay as happy as I am today.

I will work on balancing my career with my life and I will start taking better care of myself, eat a little healthier and lose the 15 pounds I gained while being happy and productive.

On the cusp of a fresh decade, it’s hard to not look back on where you started. I’ve learned a lot in the past 10 years and I have certainly come a long way in my own personal journey. As someone who has been through her fair share, I am quite proud of how far I’ve come and I only hope that in 10 years from now, I can feel the same way. Hopefully, I’ll be able to look back on all of this and know that not only did I make a lot of good decisions, but that I don’t regret the one’s that didn’t turn out as planned. Life doesn’t always progress the way you think it will and although there are plenty of bumps in the road, if you keep your chin up and your mind on the goal, you may just end up exactly where you hoped.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and successful new year from everyone here (all one of us) at Wasted Talent.
