LTE in Grand Forks Herald Rips Michele Bachmann

Read it here.

BISMARCK — Gov. John Hoeven and the North Dakota Republican Party are among those who are bringing U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., to town. Bachmann will be the keynote speaker at Friday’s “Take Back Washington” rally in Bismarck.

Not only does Bachmann have little idea of what’s best for North Dakota, she contradicts herself at every turn. A Politico.com story reported that the “Bachmann family farm, managed by her father-in-law until his recent death, received $251,000 in farm payments between 1995 and 2006.”

So she can have farm payments but vote against the farm bill? Not only is this hypocritical, but it shows she doesn’t represent the best interests of family farmers in either Minnesota or North Dakota.

Why is the North Dakota Republican Party bringing her to North Dakota? All that shows me is that just like Bachmann, the Republican Party is out of touch with the needs of North Dakotans.
