BACHMANN ADMITS SHE’S DONE NOTHING FOR HER 6th DISTRICT CONSTITUENTS
Calls herself ‘fairly new freshman’ legislator who hasn’t passed any ‘substantive bills’
In a rare interview with local media, published in the St. Cloud Times on Sunday, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06), calling herself a “fairly new freshman” -- after two terms and almost four years in Congress -- admits she’s passed nothing of substance during her time in Congress.
Reporter Dave Aeikens asked the Congresswoman; “Tell me about three things, you’re in your fourth year now, tell me about three bills or amendments that you’ve done in your time in Washington, that you’ve gotten passed, that are most beneficial to the people of the 6th Congressional District?”
Congresswoman Bachmann, in her own words:
"I am in the deep minority in Congress and a fairly new freshman, so I don’t have substantive bills that I have been able to pass."
“Even Congresswoman Bachmann herself can’t list a single piece of substantive legislation she’s passed for the people of her district,” said Zach Rodvold, Campaign Manager for Tarryl Clark’s campaign for Congress. “While she finds the time to travel the country speaking to conservative rallies, Minnesotans are paying the price for her misplaced priorities. During tough economic times, its safe to say we deserve a Congresswoman who puts Minnesota families first, instead of using the seat as a platform for a personal agenda. We deserve a representative who will actually fight for us and deliver results. That's Tarryl Clark.”
On Friday, Clark's campaign released a web video that highlighted Bachmann’s continued neglect of her district in favor of the national travel circuit. The video can be viewed at www.youtube.com/tarrylclarkdotcom.
The full interview, with complete audio (this quote beginning at 4:01), of Congresswoman Bachmann's interview of the St. Cloud Times can be found here.
Good for the Clark campaign for nailing Michele Bachmann on her do-nothing congressional record.
