On February 1st, one of the most style savvy icons in the industry, Emannuelle Alt, will take over as editor-in-chief of French Vogue. Although I am a die hard fan of Carine Roitfeld, I am somewhat intrigued to see what Alt will do with the magazine. The beauty of Carine is that she is all about the flash and the glam and her completely unattainable style is what made legions of fashion followers swoon over her over-the-top pages. Alt, on the other hand, has a style that is more toned down- her signature look being a dirty ripped tee, leather leggings, and a broken-in leather jacket. Or as I like to say, Emmanuelle Alt dresses the way I would if I had her amazing fashion connections. I wouldn't give up my perfectly distressed tee's, but I'd probably compliment them with a $11,000 Balmain jacket. It's hard to say if French Vogue will be better off, but I guess only time will tell. Nonetheless, in honor of our newly appointed chief, I wanted to repost one of my favorite installments of "I Want Your Style" from back in April. Enjoy:

If I could switch wardrobes with any person in the world, Emmanuelle Alt's would be one of the top contenders. Since Alt became the Fashion Director of Paris' Vogue Magazine in 2000, she has been on everyone's radar. Her overall look is rock n roll chic, but unlike the rocker look of yesteryear, her clothes are worn in a perfectly tailored way that always seems to radiate her innate sense of elegance.
