A right-wing blogger who criticized the Native American opening prayer at the Tucson memorial service as "ugly" has gotten in trouble at his day job -- working for a law firm that also defends Native American rights.
Powerline's Paul Mirengoff authored a bunch of blog posts about Rev. Jeremiah Wright including one that accused Rev. Wright of being a "bigot":
A few days ago, I noted how the Washington Post had seemed to airbrush Reverend Wright out of a story regarding the Clinton campaign's reaction to the fact that Barack Obama was speaking about race relations while Hillary was talking about economic issues. The Post claimed that the Clinton campaign was pleased because Obama was discussing "the loft[y] subject of social harmony." Yet it seemed far more plausible that the campaign's alleged pleasure stemmed from the fact that Obama was reduced to trying to explain his long-time close relationship with an anti-white bigot. Neither the bigot, Rev. Wright, nor his comments were mentioned in the Post story.
Of course, Paul Mirengoff had nothing to say about anti-gay bigot Bradlee Dean who broadcasts anti-gay rants on Saturday afternoon for two hours on WWTC 1280 AM (after The Northern Alliance show which until recently featured Powerline blogger John Hinderaker)... surprised?
Powerline has been a staunch defender of Bachmann. Bachmann has appeared on Powerline blogger John Hinderaker's radio show. Here's the audio segment in which she said citizens should be "armed and dangerous" (Dump Bachmann posted that audio first back in 2007). Give a listen and see if you can spot the Powerline blogger's picture (with a PhotoShopped pig nose) in this Dump Bachmann You Tube video:
