WHICH EMMER IS IN ARREARS ON DELANO PROPERTY TAXES?

Tom Emmer’s Uncle Drew has long been a part of Tom’s campaigns.

“Drew has always worked on my campaigns with me from day one,” Tom Emmer told the state Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board (CFB) in a 2009 investigation over campaign violations by the 2008 Emmer House campaign, which Drew chaired.

So when Drew went missing from the internet awhile back, it left some people scratching their heads.

Now the question is, is Drew Emmer—who is also known as Earl Emmer, according to the CFB—the same Earl Emmer whose Delano property taxes are in arrears? The addresses appear to match up.

Drew Emmer lists a Delano address owned by an Earl A. Emmer Jr. as his own address in a CFB filing. He also lists an “eaemmer” email address as his own on the same filing. According to Wright County property tax records, none of the $1,646 tax bill on Earl A. Emmer Jr.’s property has been paid this year, although half of the taxes were due May 15. This isn’t the first time Earl A. Emmer Jr. has been in arrears on his taxes. In 2009, $183.15 in penalty and interest was paid in addition to the taxes on this same property.

As of August 1, Emmer will pay a 6 percent penalty, or $98.76, for paying his property taxes late for at least the second year in a row.

Maybe this is all part of Tom Emmer’s Secret Tax Cut Plan: you just don’t pay them.
