BEST OF: OLIVER THEYSKENS FOR THEORY

When you mix a high end designer with a mid-range brand it can sometimes look a little incohesive (think certain Target G.O. collections). But in this case, Oliver truly brought his own point of view to a brand that's already very well established in the industry. In this collection we saw a lot of Theyskens' signature details and the best part is, until now, most of us were never able to afford them. Elongated silhouettes, unfinished hems and slouchy collars (created by cutting a triangle in the back of the collar) are just a few of the details we can look forward to having in our wardrobes. Continuing with the Spring 2011 trend of little to no color, black and white dominated the collection. But in an interesting curve ball, small flashes of royal blue, bordeaux, olive and grey will help these basics transition easily into the Fall. Below are some of my favorites from the show. P.S. Whose genius idea was it to shoot the model from this awkward angle?
