Steamboat Institute books nationally known speakers
The Steamboat Institute has added two nationally known speakers to its inaugural Freedom Conference, slated for Aug. 28 to 29 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel.
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; and Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund, a contributor to Fox News, join a lineup that includes House GOP Chairman Mike Pence, of Indiana, — at a pre-conference reception Aug. 23 — conservative radio talk show host Michael Reagan, and Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
What's the Steamboat Institute, that's throwing this bash? Well, they support the 1773 club, which organizes the local tea-baggers. Steamboat Springs looks like a nice place if you want to go out there and get in some skiing and a little tea-bagging on the side.
That's it; that's the only item I have tonight. Michele is mentioned in the New York Times round up, but they're just recycling that old Polinaut article again. They do mention a story about how Dem town halls are drawing conservative thugs these days, leading to "screaming, scuffles, threats, and arrests"--but Michele isn't mentioned in that story, and we already did that one here.
