Michele Bachmann is a Fugitive From the Court of Public Opinion

Two articles about Michele Bachmann's no-shows at deabates - The Stillwater Gazette and The Saint Cloud Times. Two boring articles about non-events that would have been national news had Bachmann showed up.

Michele Bachmann claims to be an expert on the U.S. Constitution (okay, stop laughing). Bachmann should take a look at the 6th Amendment:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence

Bachmann isn't on trial for a criminal offense, but debates are similar to trials - they are an adversarial contest for votes in the court of public opinion. Bachmann has chosen to hide behind attack ads bought with a mountain of money. These attack ads whine about Tarryl Clark's ads while making her own claims about Tarryl Clark's record. If Bachmann has a case against Tarryl Clark (and Bob Anderson), she should face her accusers and argue her case before the jury - the voters, constituents and taxpayers of the 6th Congressional District. But, Bachmann has chosen to run away.

Who do we get to bring back the fugitive? Dog the Bounty Hunter?
